By gradually developing the script, Zeb One ensured the continuity of creative work. He never followed art trends much, his personal opinion and inventiveness was gradually shaped by graffiti, the street art scene, but also by his admiration for the aesthetic quality of floor plans as we know them from urbanism and architecture. The pursuit of the purest possible form without gestural and emotional elements eventually logically anchored him in a geometric and abstract expression based on typography. The calm and concentrated painting in which the artist emphasises the maximum perfection of execution is created with a purist idea of an absolute work. It is preceded by a sketch verifying proportional relationships, which the artist then mechanically transfers to the canvas with perfect precision. Over time, he developed a strictly defined working procedure that includes, for example, the horizontal position of the painting pad or the order in which the individual areas of colour are applied and covered. Throughout this lengthy process, which demands patience, the painting must be constantly under rational control; and the finished work gives the impression that it was not created by human hands. The shallow space of the painting is articulated by individual surfaces and colours that are interconnected. Although it seems to primarily be a purely optical effect of abstract geometric shapes, the image always hides a certain coded message.Only when we decipher it, and thus understand the grapheme depicted, does the hidden content of the work open up to us.
