Jan Uldrych reflects on the relationship between transparent representation and coarse expressive painterly gesture, which is usually associated with abstraction. Udrych therefore, in effect, presents us with his paintings in front of ideal and perfect windows: We see the world behind them with absolute clarity, but we have no rational experience of what we see "out there", our minds simply do not have the concepts with which to grasp what is depicted.

About Jan Uldrych
At the centre of Uldrych's attention is the inner world of experience, the limits of human perception, the motif of the unconscious memory. "I am interested in a certain confrontation with reality. We do not know with unshakeable certainty where its boundaries really are, what it creates and where the source of our consciousness is. I have no desire to paint only the things I see with my eyes; I want to go beyond what we commonly call "reality". I am interested in the inner structure of being, something original, something that seeps in from other planes of consciousness. In this way we avoid the lie - we do not transform the external world, but our experience of the other gives us answers to what the world "out there" rather is not", says Jan Uldrych.
This makes Uldrych's resulting paintings all the more interesting. Imagery - traditionally understood (leaving aside the problem of realism as a "convention") as realistic - represents in the paintings completely unknown entities anchored in an unknowable reality. In their visual character, the paintings thus resemble almost abstract, non-figurative positions of painting. Jan Uldrych is aware of this and over time begins to reflect on the relationship between transparent representation and the coarse expressive painterly gesture, which is usually associated with abstraction. Udrych therefore, in effect, confronts us with ideal and perfect windows with his paintings: we see the world behind them with absolute clarity, but we have no rational experience of what we see "out there"; our minds simply do not possess the concepts with which to grasp what is depicted. His paintings thus call for a "Wittgensteinian silence" - "What cannot be talked about must be kept silent." The contours of realism and reality itself are therefore shaped in the pure and pure creative, conceptually ungrasped experience of the image, in an attempt to resurrect the "innocent eye."

- Add the work to the basket and confirm your order by filling in your contact details.
- AG will confirm the availability of the work with the gallery/artist within 2 business days.
- It then notifies the buyer of the availability and sends a link to the payment gateway if the work's price is under €10,000. In case of works costing between €10,000 and €15,000, we are obliged to identify the buyer under the AML Act. The identification of the buyer is done through a courier who visits the buyer at the address provided and fills out a simple form with the buyer. A payment gateway will then be sent to the email address provided. If the work costs over €15,000, the works can only be purchased in person at the point of sale after the buyer has been identified according to AML rules (personal data).
- The Purchaser shall pay for the work within 24 hours of receipt of the link to the payment gateway.
- After payment, the work will be shipped within 5 working days by a shipping company with a maximum delivery time of 14 days (worldwide).

In the work James Tytykal (1984) one can trace the inspiration of classical modernism. Fragmented creatures, still lifes, landscapes and, more recently, urban scenes are reminiscent of Cubism in their compositional structure and reduced colour palette. In contrast to the Cubist emphasis on the act of seeing and the problem of representation, however, Tytykalo turns to the imagination: he models matter in his paintings with an emphasis on its imaginative potential. Tytykalo's combination of acrylic and spray paint inventively merges classical figurative painting with the lightness and exaggeration of street art.
