Tomáš Tichý's paintings have long tracked the transformations of human sensitivity in a post-media (cross-media) environment and the digital age. His work responds to the flood of still and moving images that are consciously and subliminally becoming part of our lives, together rewriting the surface of reality and modelling a new plane of perception into which manipulative and levelling elements are automatically built. It traces the connection of new media with certain visual genres (fashion, sport, politics, consumerism) with the tendency to create attractive, visually memorable constellations (artificial paradises) and idols (celebrities). It measures and explores the relationship of the traditional hanging image to new stimuli that move, shift, and reshape the language of painting.

About Tomáš Tichý
Tomáš Tichý (1984) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2011). In 2009 he spent a study stay at the Royal Academy in Antwerp. His paintings are often shortlisted for prestigious art prizes (e.g. Wells Art Contemporary, The Columbia Threadneedle Prize, CBM Prize, etc.). His work was part of the exhibition project After Rembrandt organized by the National Gallery in Prague and the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne (2016-2021). He is represented abroad by the Italian gallery CRAG.
Tomáš Tichý's representational painting has long been tracing the transformations of human sensitivity under the conditions of the post-media situation (cross-media) and the digital age. Through his work he responds to the flood of photographic and moving images that are becoming a conscious and subliminal part of our lives, together rewriting the surface of reality and modelling a new plane of perception into which manipulative and levelling elements are automatically built. - Add the work to the basket and confirm your order by filling in your contact details.
- AG will confirm the availability of the work with the gallery/artist within 2 business days.
- It then notifies the buyer of the availability and sends a link to the payment gateway if the work's price is under €10,000. In case of works costing between €10,000 and €15,000, we are obliged to identify the buyer under the AML Act. The identification of the buyer is done through a courier who visits the buyer at the address provided and fills out a simple form with the buyer. A payment gateway will then be sent to the email address provided. If the work costs over €15,000, the works can only be purchased in person at the point of sale after the buyer has been identified according to AML rules (personal data).
- The Purchaser shall pay for the work within 24 hours of receipt of the link to the payment gateway.
- After payment, the work will be shipped within 5 working days by a shipping company with a maximum delivery time of 14 days (worldwide).
